Rainfall records shattered across Peace region on Friday

UPDATE:  Grande Prairie set another rainfall record on Saturday with 30 mm, beating the previous July 21st record of 23.2 mm set in 2012. 

There has been 60 mm of rain in Grande Prairie since Thursday. 

 

Several rainfall records were broken across the Peace region on Friday as a system continues to make its way through the area. 
 
Grande Prairie Airport recorded 19 millimetres of rain on Friday, beating the previous July 20th record of 12.4 mm set back in 1983. 
 
Peace River received 51.6 mm of rainfall, shattering their previous high mark of 19.1 mm set in 1976. 
 
And 22 mm of rain fell in Beaverlodge on Friday, beating their record of 12.1 mm that was recorded in 2013. 
 
The entire Grande Prairie region remains under a rainfall warning.
