Air quality statement issued for Grande Prairie and area

UPDATE: The AQHI is sitting at six as of Thursday morning.

A special air quality statement has been issued by Environment Canada.

Grande Prairie and other parts of the region are sitting at a four on the Air Quality Health Index. The at-risk population should reschedule outdoor activities if they become strenuous. 

There are other areas included in the statement including:

Co. of Grande Prairie near Beaverlodge Hythe and Demmitt
Co. of Grande Prairie near Grande Prairie and Wembley
Co. of Grande Prairie near Sexsmith and La Glace
M.D. of Greenview near DeBolt
M.D. of Greenview near Little Smoky
M.D. of Greenview near O’Brien Prov. Park and Big Mtn Creek
M.D. of Greenview near Sturgeon Lake
M.D. of Greenview near Valleyview and New Fish Creek
M.D. of Greenview near Wapiti and Shuttler Flats Rec. Area

The Peace Airshed Zone Association has Rycroft area at a five on the AQHI.
