It was a quick turnaround for the World Pro Chuckwagon Tour as they began competition at the 2018 Battle of the North in Dawson Creek Wednesday night.

Track conditions were a little sluggish, but when all was said and done, Cody McCurrach emerged with the fastest time of 1:19.26 for the top spot after Day one.

Kurt Bensmiller, who won last weekend in Strathmore, is right on McCurrach’s heels sitting in 2nd.

While Evan Salmond, who also had a strong weekend in Strathmore sits in 3rd.

Night 2 of the Battle of the North will get going Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.

The top driver in the aggregate after Saturday night will get the use of a 2018 GMC Truck.

The top 4 drivers in the aggregate after Saturday’s run will go into the winner-take-all championship final heat where the winner will take home a big bonus cheque and the 2018 Battle of the North Championship.
