Past stars edge current day Storm in Alumni game

Grande Prairie Storm held their 3rd annual alumni game on Friday night. 

This year’s format saw a team of alumni, headlined by current New York Islander Tanner Fritz, former assistant coach Dennis Rix, and former AJHL MVP Mike Lefley, take on a team of current Storm players that included captain Connor Blake, Zach Okabe and Jared Power, and prospects such as Nathaniel Bierd, Lars Kaliel and Tyson Upper. 

In the end, the alumni eeked out a 9-8 win. 

The club will hold it’s annual golf tournament today at the Dunes Golf Club. 

The current day Storm kick off training camp next Friday at Revolution Place, with the annual Brian Nash Memorial Intersquad game set for Sunday, August 26th at 3pm.
