One man is facing charges after an altercation with gunshots near Spirit River.

Spirit River RCMP were called Friday around 3 p.m. to a property south of town. A suspect was found trespassing on the complainant’s neighbour’s property. The suspect drove off after being confronted and was followed by the complainant.

The suspect then fired shots from a handgun at the complainant’s vehicle striking its side. He then continued southbound, followed a passing vehicle into a yard of a rural residence. The suspect pointed a gun at the male driver, while the female passenger took the keys and retreated into the residence leaving a four-year-old in the back seat. After another gunshot was fired, the female handed the keys over to the suspect.
