Oct 22, 2018 | 6:06 AM

A new Library Director has been named to head the Grande Prairie Public Library.

Deborah Cryderman has her Masters in Information & Library Studies from the University of Alberta and comes from Camrose Public Library where she was the director for the last seven years.

“Deb brings years of library experience with an energy and enthusiasm that will build on the excellent work done by Maureen Curry,” says Mark Evans, Board Chair. “She’s an excellent fit for GPPL and we look forward to working with her.”

In a news release, she says she hopes to inspire the community.

“Libraries provide creativity and critical thinking that is needed now more than ever. I hope we can inspire the community and attract people with varied backgrounds, passions, and interests to take part in the democratic culture of the library. I can’t wait to get started with the team at GPPL.”
