Nov 7, 2018 | 10:14 AM

Two people were sent to hospital after a collision between a crane truck and a semi near Valleyview.

Pictures at the scene show the cab of the semi completely mangled, and the crane slicing through the trailer of the truck.

The crash happened Tuesday morning around 2 a.m. on Highway 43 south of Valleyview near Highway 665.

The semi driver was transported to hospital in Edmonton.  The extent of his injuries are not known, but he remains in hospital.

The driver of the crane truck was taken to local hospital where he was treated and released.

The cause of the collision is under investigation with assistance from an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist.

RCMP Corporal Chris Warren says there were winter driving conditions at the time and all potential causal factors will be looked at.
