Athletics fall in OT to Canucks

Nov 9, 2018 | 5:27 AM

The Grande Prairie Athletics and Dawson Creek Canucks kicked off the North Peace Hockey League schedule for the week last night in B.C, and they did so in thrilling fashion.

The two West division rivals went back and forth throughout the game, but in the end it was the home side coming out on top.

With 12 seconds remaining in OT, Jeff Taylor of the Canucks would pot the game winner past Athletics goaltender Keifer Smiley to earn the 3-2 win for Dawson Creek.

With the loss in OT, the Athletics sit with a 1-1-1 record on the year, but are in first place in the West Division.
