Grande Prairie Judo club competes in Eastern Canada

The Hoku Sei Kan Judo Club of Grande Prairie is back after a successful trip to Eastern Canada.

The club along with Judo Alberta traveled to compete in the Quebec Open, train at the National Judo training camp in Montreal, and compete at the Ontario Open in Toronto.

Sensei Carlos Grisales along with judokas Michelle Grisales(fighting u18 -52 & Senior Women’s), Sydney Kinderwater (u16 & u18 -57kg), Mattea Seitz (u16 -70kg), Maxim Zararzin (u16 -73kg), and Nikita Tsyruk (u14 -60kg) attended from the Grande Prairie area.  

Some of the results from the two Opens include:

Quebec Open – Day 1

Mattea Seitz    U16 -70kg        Bronze

Ontario Open – Day 1

Michelle Grisales        U18 -52kg        Gold

Sydney Kinderwater    U18 -57kg        Bronze

Ontario Open – Day 2

Sydney Kinderwater    U16 -57kg        Bronze

Grisales will also be representing the Hoku Sei Kan Judo Club and Alberta at the Canada Winter Games in February in Red Deer.
