Cocaine, meth seized during search at hotel in Grande Prairie

Three Edmonton men are facing multiple trafficking charges after a search at a hotel in Grande Prairie. 

RCMP, Police Dog Services, General Duty Members and the General Investigation Section executed a search warrant last Friday where 131 grams of cocaine, 27 grams of crystal methamphetamine, five cell phones and about $4,200 in cash was turned up. 

All three of the men that were arrested are scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on November 26. 

Twenty-year-old Tyler Lee Dentzien is facing the following charges:

  • Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Four counts of failing to comply with conditions of recognizance

Twenty-two-year-old Abdullahe Omar Awad is facing the following charges:

  • Two counts of Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

Twenty-year-old Alhaji Sorie Fofanah is facing the following charges;

  • Two counts of Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

“Grande Prairie RCMP is committed to increasing community safety by using a crime reduction strategy that focuses on identifying repeat offenders, gathering intelligence, and conducting enforcement initiatives,” said RCMP in a media release.
