Brent Headon’s goal with 2:39 left in the third pushed the County JDA Kings past Dawson Creek 4-3 in NWJHL play on Saturday. 

Jaiden LaPorte, Jacob Begin and Blake Gillingham also scored for the Kings, while Will McCreight made 44 saves to pick up the win. 

Dustin Bahm scored twice while Mason Ducharme added the other goal for the league leading Junior Canucks. 

Other action in the league saw five different players score for Fairview in a 5-1 win over Sexsmith, while Alex Nimmo’s goal at the 2:36 mark of the third period stood up as the winner as Fort St John got by North Peace 3-1.

Grande Prairie A’s erased a 3-1 first period deficit to beat High Prairie 8-4 in NPHL action.  

Mackenzie Caron recorded a hat trick while Morgan Maclean added a pair for the A’s, with singles added by Braden Crone, Kelvin Neustater and Sam Bosek. 

Other action saw Dawson Creek beat Manning 5-2, while the game between Fort St John and Grimshaw was cancelled due to icy road conditions.

Saturday saw Mixed results for GPAC teams. 

Ernie’s Major Midget Storm played to a 4-4 tie with Calgary Buffaloes yesterday, as Hudson Foley and Jayden Watson eached scored twice for the Storm. 

Meanwhile Leduc beat the Boston Pizza Minor Midgets 7-2.
