The two men charged after a police-involved shooting in Grande Prairie earlier this month are due back in court December 19.

Raymond Andrew Rodtka and Kevin Daniel Turner made their first appearance December 7.

That same day, they were charged in connection with a November 30 armed robbery at a gas station in Sangudo.

Two men, one of them carrying a firearm, stole money and cigarettes.

Mayerthorpe RCMP are also looking for a third suspect in that hold-up.

Trial, preliminary hearing dates set in Sturgeon Lake shooting incident

A May 9, 2019 trial date had been set back in October for Winona Gauchey.

Two others, Tess Courtereille and Lawrence Kiyawasew, will have a preliminary hearing July 4, 2019.

Six-month sentence after police vehicle rammed

One of the two people charged after a November incident where a police vehicle was rammed near DeBolt has been given a six-month jail sentence.

Alberta Justice says Cody Marcel Young pleaded guilty to charges of possession of stolen property over $5000, failure to stop/evade police, and theft under $5000 at his first court appearance December 3 in Grande Prairie.

On November 18, police tried to stop a stolen truck at 108 Street and 100 Avenue. It took off through a nearby field.

Police located the same truck later that day near DeBolt. The suspects escaped by hitting a police vehicle.

RCMP later found a stolen car weaving into the traffic coming the other way on Highway 43. Two people were arrested as they tried to get into slow moving vehicles.

The second person charged, Angie Marie Duncan, is due in court on December 19.
