WINNIPEG — Valour FC has signed two local players in goalkeeper Tyson Farago and midfielder Dylan Sacramento.

The 27-year-old Farago joins the new Canadian Premier League team after spending most of the 2018 season with St. Patrick’s Athletic of the League of Ireland Premier Division.

“He’s at a very good age for keepers, and we’ll see his best years here in Winnipeg,” said Valour FC head coach and GM Rob Gale.

Sacramento scored 14 goals in 14 appearances with Vaughan this year, earning first team all-star and the men’s division MVP honours. A former member of the Toronto FC academy, he played thee years at Florida Gulf Coast University after transferring from York University.

“Dylan is another lad that I have known for many years, I gave him his international debut when he played against the U.S. and scored for Canada U-20,” Gale said in a statement. “He progressed from Manitoba to Toronto FC, down to NCAA where he matured as a player and person, so we are very excited to bring him back to his hometown.”

The Winnipeg club previously announced the signing of English striker Stephen Hoyle and Canadian centre back Skylar Thomas, a former Toronto FC first-round draft pick.

The seven-team CPL is due to kick off in April.
