Town of Sexsmith elects new Mayor – Kate Potter

The unofficial results are in from the Town of Sexsmith’s by-election Monday and the community has its new Mayor.

Kate Potter is set to be the new Mayor of the Town after she received 218 votes.

This was ahead of Ian Penner’s 193 and Jacqueline Jensen’s 37.

Potter is no stranger to Sexsmith Town Council as she stepped down from her Councillor position to run for Mayor.

With both Potter and Penner stepping down from their Councillor positions to run for Mayor, this opened up two seats on Town Council.

Filling those seats will be Kenneth Hildebrand and Dennis Stredulinsky.
