GPRC Basketball teams set for 2nd half of season

Jan 11, 2019 | 7:52 AM

The GPRC Basketball teams return to the court for 2nd semester action this weekend in Camrose against Augustana.

Head Coach of the Women’s team Mandy Botham stated that the team has been hard at work since returning from the holidays.

“The team has actually been doing pretty well. They have kept up with their fitness and their shooting while they were gone. It doesn’t feel like in previous years where we were starting over, and it feels like we are just picking up where we left off.”

The Wolves basketball clubs are on the road in Camrose to battle the Augustana Vikings and for the Women it will be a tough task against one of the top teams in the Country according to Botham.

“They are the #1 team in the ACAC, and they are currently #7 in Canada. So, the attitude we are taking into this weekend is that it’s a great test for us to go up against the very best in our conference.”

The women tip off at 6:00 p.m. Friday night while the Men play at 8.

Saturday the Women play at 1 and the Men at 3.

At GPRC the Men’s and Women’s volleyball teams are home to Augustana.
