Zinterer family thanked for long-time support of Snack Program

The Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools Education Foundation and GPCSD are taking time to honour a long-time donor.

The Zinterer family, as well as their company Trend Home Improvements, have been supporting the Grande Prairie Schools Snack Program for the last eight years and, to date, have donated $73,500.

The Snack Program provides those in need a healthy morning breakfast, a fresh fruit mid-morning snack, and a nutritious emergency bag lunch to various schools in the district.

In a release, Karla Zinterer spoke of why the charity is important to them.

“Our family very strongly believes that education is the starting point for our youth to be successful, and if they are hungry, they can’t learn, and that is a hurdle all children should not have to face.”

The Grande Prairie Schools Snack Program has been in operation since 2003 and is offered from Monday to Friday at St. Clement, St. Patrick and St. Joseph High School, throughout the school year.
