Busy end of the week for NWJHL

Jan 18, 2019 | 10:19 AM

It’s a busy weekend in the North West Junior Hockey League with 5 games on tap over the next 3 days.

The hottest team in the league, the JDA Kings aren’t back on the ice until Sunday.

Head Coach Kyle Chapple reveals that the team’s turnaround came a few months back.

“In mid November we started to stay a little better and we had a couple of big wins against teams higher in the standings and I think we started to build some confidence.”

With a month to go left in the regular season, each game going down the stretch is going to impact the standings.

Chapple shares how this year has been a real battle due to the parity in the league.

“We could play Fairview one night and then have a great battle with them, then next night have Fort St.John come to town and it is no different. It’s good for the league. It means you will have exciting games every night and if you don’t show up it will be a loss.”

The Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers kick off the busy stretch of games Friday night in Fort St.John against the Huskies.

A full schedule of the next 3 days is listed below:
