Man sentenced to over 2 years behind bars after fatally shaking baby

An Edmonton man must spend two more years in jail after he admitted to fatally shaking a two-month-old baby.

Brandon Calahoo was sentenced today after pleading guilty to criminal negligence causing death.

An agreed statement of facts shows Calahoo was dating the infant girl’s mother in July 2016 when he shook the baby after she woke up and started crying.

The baby suffered severe injuries and died about two weeks later.

Calahoo faces three years of probation upon release.
