Energy project subject of Wembley open house tonight

Jan 21, 2019 | 4:30 AM

A proposed expansion to the Source Energy Services rail terminal in Wembley will be the subject of an open house tonight.

The company is looking at a crude-by-rail joint venture with Tidewater Midstream.

An information package about the idea says that there would be no pipeline involved and that the facility would load five to ten cars per day.

That same package says town council has identified locomotive noise and heavy truck traffic as concerns. Odour from the oil has also come up as a worry on social media.

The open house is set for 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Wembley Community Hall.
