Flyers sweep home and home with Huskies

Jan 23, 2019 | 5:55 AM

It was an early start to the week in the North Peace Hockey League as the Grimshaw Huskies hosted the Fort St.John Flyers.

The contest was the 2nd half of a home and home

However, the result was quite like the first as the Flyers earned a 7-5 win on the road.

With the win, the Flyers are now a game above .500 at 9-8-0 on the year, but regardless of their results in their final couple of games, they will finish in 3rd in the West division.

For Grimshaw, they drop to 7-11-0 and remain 3rd in the East. The Huskies could still potentially finish in 2nd in the division, however they would have to win their final 3 games and get some help.

The league will have Wednesday off before resuming on Thursday with a trio of games.

Dawson Creek will host the Grande Prairie Athletics, the Falher Pirates travel to High Prairie to meet the Regals, and Manning is in Grimshaw.
