Naming rights to three facilities, five assets of Eastlink Centre available

The City of Grande Prairie is offering the naming rights to three of its facilities, as well as five assets of the Eastlink Centre.

Naming rights for the CKC West Synthetic Turf and Grandstands, the Twin Ice Arenas and the Bear Creek Pool are all up for grabs. The assets of the Eastlink Centre that are available include:

-Half Court Fieldhouse

-Squash and Racquet Courts

-Food Court

-Fitness Centre

-Walking Track.

“It gives an opportunity to enhance the programming for users and residents,” says Strategic Marketing Manager with the City of Grande Prairie Jordan Wall.  He also says that by offering the naming rights to these facilities, it helps bring in funding to provide more services to residents.

“Some of the things the public wouldn’t see is the events and free offerings, such as free skates, that the city can put on throughout the year.” said Wall.  “Many times the naming partners either contribute to that directly or even sometimes solely, to bring these things forward to the public. Ultimately it’s about being able to build and operate the facilities and to keep costs low.”

Of the 28 facilities listed on the City’s website, three currently have had their naming rights sold (Eastlink Centre, Coca Cola Centre and Revolution Place). Wall says the partnerships with those companies have helped the city in operating those facilities, and he hopes that other facilities can benefit from partnerships with companies and organizations that want to show a strong commitment to the community.

“We want to find a business that is not only associated with the properties but takes some ownership along with the city to provide a better value proposition for our residents.”

Businesses and organizations which may be interested in purchasing the naming rights can contact the city’s marketing department directly. Wall states the city is always looking to have discovery sessions with the business community, in order to find the right fit for both the business and the city.
