Feb 11, 2019 | 8:56 AM

Everything GP has learned a man from the Falher area has died in an avalanche near Blue River, BC.

A group was snowmobiling about 70 kilometres south of Valemount, near the Bone Creek Forest Service Road Saturday when a slide came down.

“At this time what we can confirm is that on February 9, 2019 at around 12 minutes after 3 p.m. the Valemount RCMP were notified via emergency beacon activation of which information said a person had been killed as a result of an avalanche,” said North District RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Madonna Saunderson.

“At this time, they’re still confirming the identity of the individual who had succumbed to the snowmobile party avalanche that had happened in that area,” said Saunderson. “Information is very limited at this time. I know search and rescue were called to assist.”
