Storm blanked in Bonnyville

It was a tough way to start a busy stretch for the Grande Prairie Storm Tuesday night as they were shutout by the Bonnyville Pontiacs 5-0.

Luke Albert netted a pair of power play goals in the 3rd period to out the icing on cake for Bonnyville who improved to 39-10-4 with the win.

Not only did the penalty kill allow two goals against in the contest, but the Storm also allowed a shorthanded goal in the middle frame.

With the loss, the Storm fall to 26-24-3 on the season and remain in 5th in the AJHL’s North division and 5 points back of the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.

The good news for the Storm is they won’t have to wait long before returning to the ice.

They will be back at it Wednesday night in Lloydminster against the Bobcats.

Grande Prairie is a perfect 5-0 against Lloydminster this season and have outscored the Bobcats 29-13.
