Former Edmonton-area Mountie facing four new charges

Feb 13, 2019 | 1:18 PM

EDMONTON – Alberta’s police watchdog says a former Edmonton-area Mountie who is waiting to be sentenced for multiple criminal offences is facing four new charges.

Aaron Lee Sayler, who was an officer between 2012 and 2016, was convicted last September of 10 criminal charges, including harassing women with whom he’d been romantically involved and damaging their property.

He was released until his sentencing, but on multiple conditions _ including that he surrender his passport to the court.

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team says Sayler was arrested last week for allegedly trying to breach his bail conditions.
