Athletics off to 2nd round of NPHL playoffs

The Grande Prairie Athletics have punched their ticket to the 2nd round of the NPHL playoffs.

They eliminated the defending league Champs, the Fort St.John Flyers Thursday night with a 6-3 win in Game 5, winning the series 4-1.

The win vaults the Athletics into the 2nd round of the post-season where they will cross-over and face the Falher Pirates.

No schedule for the series has been released at this time.

Elsewhere, the Manning Comets are one win away from the 2nd round.
