UPDATE: Natural gas has been restored

UPDATE: ATCO has advised they’ve restored natural gas after a morning outage.

“The frigid temps caused a gas outage in the Teepee Creek/Bezanson area NE of (Grande Prairie). Gas has been restored & crews are visiting homes to restore heat & relight appliances,” they wrote on Twitter.

The Peace Wapiti Public School Division also reported today there was no heat at Bezanson School.

“Crews are working on the issue but have not provided an estimated time of repair. Students have arrived at the school and PWSD Maintenance is delivering heaters to maintain the school’s current safe temperature,” said a release.

“Staff are contacting parents to arrange pick up of students. Once all parents have been contacted, PWSD will determine if busing is required to safely transport any remaining students.”
