Storm sign Trela

The Grande Prairie Storm have kept busy since being eliminated from the AJHL Playoffs.

Last weekend the club hosted their annual spring camp, and Tuesday evening the club announced their first signing and commitment for next season.

Nick Trela is a 1999 born forward is from Trenton Michigan and was an assistant captain for the Victory Honda U18 club which competes in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League, as well as the U18 AAA.

The 6’2 forward racked up 23 goals and 38 assists last season.

Trela shared in a press release that it was a comfortability thing with the Storm and was intrigued by the ties back to Michigan college hockey.

This includes Assistant coaches Dennis Rix and Blake Cosgrove who played Division 1 hockey for Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan respectively.

Trela will be on the ice in Grande Prairie when the Storm host main camp at the end of August.
