Brandt Tractor wins inaugural Landscape Recognition Award of Excellence

Sep 26, 2017 | 10:54 AM

The County of Grande Prairie’s inaugural Landscape Recognition Award of Excellence goes to Brandt Tractor.

Reeve Leanne Beaupre, who sits on the County Landscaping Committee, says it was a tough choice to make.

“Businesses within the County of Grande Prairie, in the Industrial Landscape Program, have done a lot of work. Some of it was done by paid employees and some done by others… it was really a hard choice.”

“Brandt is actually one of our first business out in the County of Grande Prairie, in the Clairmont corridor. They’ve got a very mature landscaping program, and I think that’s what set them apart from some of our others,” Beaupre added.

Branch Manager of the local Brandt location, Kevin Lavallee, is proud of the hard work put into their yard.

“Lots of water and fertilizing, mowing. I think we’ve probably got five or six individuals that are on our property at any given time throughout the week looking after it,” he said. “I think Brandt Tractor went above and beyond.”

Beaupre says although feedback has been positive, they will consider some adjustments to the program before rolling it out again.

“We could look at whether it’s a large corporation versus a small corporation, and whether it’s done by professionals or whether it’s maintained by some of their employees.”

In total, 11 County businesses took part in the competition.
