Flu shot clinics open Monday
With winter right around the corner, Alberta Health Services is encouraging everyone to get their flu shot.
The province’s annual influenza immunization program kicks off on Monday.
AHS Medical officer of health for the North Zone Dr Albert de Villiers says it is good to be prepared.
“After you get your vaccine, it takes about two weeks for your body to get into fighting mood, and get ready and get the antibodies built up. So it is important to get the vaccine as soon as possible so that by time we start hearing about outbreaks in town, you are ready and you are protected.”
