RCMP member charged with fraud

A member of the RCMP has been charged as the result of a fraud investigation.

In April 2017, the Serious Crimes Branch looked into misappropriated funds from the charity Whoo’s Crew at Crossfield Elementary School in Crossfield, Ab.

Police investigated into the time period between Oct. 2015 and Nov. 2016, and determined they could lay charges, according to an RCMP press release.

Cst. Sean Taylor, a member of the RCMP, and Ms. Cori Taylor, of Crossfield, Alberta, have been jointly charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. 

Cori Taylor has also been charged with uttering a forged document, fraud over $5,000, five counts of fraud under $5,000, three counts of forgery and one count of false pretenses to obtain credit over $5,000/

Cst. Taylor has been a regular member of the RCMP for 12 years. He has been suspended with pay from duty since June 27, 2017.

Both are set to appear in court on Oct. 26, 2017 in Airdrie, Alberta.
