Valleyview Jets fold

Oct 25, 2017 | 11:24 AM

Another team has left the North Peace Hockey just days before the start of the season.

The Valleyview Jets are folding because of a player shortage.

Previously, the Spirit River Rangers had announced they are taking a one-year leave of absence, also because of a player shortage.

A new schedule will not be drawn up, as arenas are already booked, but some games will be added.

In the East Division, Grimshaw will play Manning in an extra home-and-home series, as will Falher and High Prairie.

West Division teams will play one more game against each other.

The season is still scheduled to start Saturday when Fort St. John visits Grande Prairie.
