Fort Vermillion police charge man with sex offences

Fort Vermillion RCMP have charged a Newfoundland man with a number of sexual offences.

They stem from a complaint over alleged conduct occurring between 1994 and 1996.

George Sheppard, 51, has been charged with invitation to sexual touching, sexual interference, sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation of a young person.

Sheppard is due in Fort Vermillion Provincial Court on December 5, 2017.

No further information will be provided to protect the identity of the victim.
