Tidewater looking to build a new gas plant in the Pipestone area

Nov 3, 2017 | 4:34 PM

Tidewater Midstream and Infrastructure Ltd. says it hopes to build a new gas plant in the Pipestone area.

It would process 100-million cubic feet of sour gas and produce 20,000 barrels of natural gas liquids per day.

The projected start-up time for the plant is mid-2019.

Tidewater says in a release the first phase of construction would cost around $210-million.

Two tenants would be able to buy a 35 percent share of the plant before it starts up.

The same release says one advantage for the project will be what is called its deep-cut capability. This would allow it to recover nearly all the liquids from the natural gas it processes.

This is the second announcement of a new gas plant in recent months.

In August, SemCAMS announced it wanted to build a sour gas facility south of Wembley that would process 280-million cubic feet of sour gas per day.
