Scheidegger rink into final at National

Casey Scheidegger will play Jennifer Jones in the women’s final at the National in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Scheidegger, whose rink includes Peace Region residents Cary-Anne McTaggart and Kristie Moore, went 3-1 in the round robin before beating Rachel Homan 7-4 in the quarterfinals, and Tracy Fleury 7-4 in the semi-final.

Meanwhile, all four Peace Region rinks at the Red Deer Curling Classic are still alive in the C-event. 

Daylyn Vavrek sees action at 9 a.m. Sunday, while Tristan Steinke will play at 12:30 p.m. 

On the ladies side, Kayla Srklik and Delia DeJong both see action at 9 a.m. Sunday.
