Precautionary air quality advisory lifted

Nov 21, 2017 | 2:25 PM

Alberta Health Services (AHS) has lifted the precautionary air quality advisory for AHS North Zone.

It was instituted on July 16, 2017, as wildfires in British Columbia “impacted air quality, variably, for the duration of the summer season,” according to an AHS release.

They say it is no longer a threat to air quality in the area, and forecasting suggests improved air quality conditions will be sustained.

Information about the air quality in many areas of Alberta is updated regularly at www.airquality.alberta.ca.  Air quality information is also available by phone, toll-free, at 1-877-247-7333 .  All active health advisories issued by AHS – including air quality advisories – can be viewed online at www.ahs.ca/air.
