Oilers’ Larsson placed on injured reserve

Edmonton Oilers defenceman Adam Larsson has been placed on injured reserve.

He was a last-minute scratch during Thursday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Oilers lost that game 6-4.

He is battling an upper-body injury, according to Rotoworld and an Oilers press release,

The team expects the defenceman, acquired in a trade that involved sending Taylor Hall to New Jersey last year, to miss a week

The AHL Bakersfield Condors will be without defenceman Ryan Stanton, who has been called up to replace Larsson.

Stanton, 28, has appeared in 120 career NHL games, posting four goals, 23 assists and 27 points.

The 6’1″, 200-pound native of St. Albert, Alberta, has appeared in 11 games for Bakersfield this season, posting one assist, 14 penalty minutes and a plus-one rating.
