NPHL Weekend Recap

Dec 11, 2017 | 9:39 AM

It was a busy weekend in the North Peace Hockey League which was highlighted by four games.

Friday night the Grande Prairie Athletics had a dominant performance over the High Prairie Regals, earning an 8-0 victory, and their fourth win of the season. Elsewhere, Grimshaw doubled up Manning 6-3.

Saturday evening also featured a pair of contests as Falher squeaked out an 8-6 win over Grimshaw, and Fort St.John walked all over Manning, winning 7-1.

Following this weekend’s action, the standings continue to be tight in both the East and West Divisions.

In the East, Falher sits at the top of the division with a 6-4-0 record which is a substantial gap on second place High Prairie who is 3-6-1.

The west division, on the other hand, continues to be a battle of nutrition. Dawson Creek continues to have the best record in the league at 7-1-1. Right on their heels though is Fort St.John at 7-3-0, and Grande Prairie sits in the basement of the division with a 4-2-1 record, but have games in hand.

Grande Prairie will make up those games this week as they take the ice three times this week. It all begins on Tuesday night when they host Dawson Creek at 8:30 p.m.
