Athletics crush Canucks Tuesday night at home

The Grande Prairie Athletics kicked off a busy week Tuesday night at home with a massive 9-4 victory over the first place Dawson Creek Canucks.

The Athletics would score three in the first, two in the second, and four in the third to walk away with the impressive victory at home against the top team in the North Peace Hockey League.

Dennis Rix led the way for the Athletics with three goals, while Mackenzie Caron tallied a pair in the Athletics fifth win of the season.

The victory vaults the Athletics to 5-2-1 on the season and drops Dawson Creek to 7-2-1. 

The two clubs won’t have to wait long until they meet again. Grande Prairie will head to Dawson Creek on Thursday with puck drop at 8:30 p.m.

Also in action on Thursday, Grimshaw will visit High Prairie.
