Peace Region RCMP lay charges in armed robbery

The man charged with an armed robbery at a Falher business is also facing charges in connection with a pair of robberies in Nampa.

On December 20th, 2017, at approximately 9:00 PM, Peace Regional RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at a Nampa, Alberta business, and to a report of an armed robbery of a Nampa resident at their home, both having occurred within a short time of one another. 

In both robberies, it was reported that a man wearing a facial covering, produced what appeared to be a firearm, before fleeing the scene. 

The man obtained an undisclosed amount of money during the robbery of the resident, before fleeing the area in a vehicle. 

No serious injuries resulted from either robbery. 

Members of the Peace Regional RCMP detachment conducted an investigation that led to the apprehension of a suspect a short time later, without incident.   

David Neufeld, a 31-year-old man  has been charged with the following offences, stemming from these robberies:

– Two counts of robbery with an imitation weapon 
– Two counts of using an imitation firearm during the commission of an offence
– Two counts Wearing a mask during the commission of an offence 
– Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
– Theft of a motor vehicle
– Possession of property obtained by crime
– Obstruction of a peace officer
– Two counts of failing to comply with conditions of recognizance 

Neufeld has been remanded into custody pending his first appearance in Peace River provincial court on January 8th, 2018.
