Storm return following the holidays to host Saints

Dec 29, 2017 | 11:33 AM

The holiday break is over for the Grande Prairie Storm as the club will return to the ice Friday night against the Spruce Grove Saints.

The Storm start the unofficial second half of the season currently in fourth place in the AJHL’s North division with a 17-15-3 record.

Grande Prairie won’t have an easy task in their first two games following Christmas, as they host one of the top clubs in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

The Spruce Grove Saints go into Friday’s game with a 25-7-3 record, and they sit tied with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons for first place in the North division.

The two clubs have collided just once this season this season with the Saints claiming a 6-4 victory at the Grant Fuhr Arena.

The teams will also battle Saturday night at Revolution Place.

Puck drop for both games is at 7:30 p.m.
