Beauty Bags looking for donations

A local initiative that collects items for less fortunate women in our community is in need of donations.

Beauty Bags co-founder Michelle Dacyk says they are looking for personal hygiene products.

“Also, we are looking for something beautiful to put in the bags to remind the women that they are beautiful, like a greeting card or an inspirational card, those kind of things. We are doing perty good in the make-up and personal items, we probably could use a little bit more in the dental care section.”

Beauty Bags was created two years ago and the donations gathered go to organizations like HIV North, who then hand the bags out to the women.

“You know everybody does so good at Christmas in supporting our community and then kind of filter off a little bit so we usually end up doing our bags in February, May and October so we can tie into those times when it is a little bit quiet.”
