With just a couple of days until the junior hockey trade deadline, a Grande Prairie product is on the move.

Kjell Kjemhus, who has spent this year with the Pursuit of Excellence Academy, had his WHL rights traded Friday from the Regina Pats to the Prince George Cougars.

Kjemhus was a part of the blockbuster Jesse Gabrielle trade which saw Gabrielle and Jesse Harkins moved from the lowly Cougars to the Memorial Cup hosts.

The Grande Prairie product was drafted in the 4th round, 77th overall of the Bantam Draft in 2016, and had appeared in 13 games with the Pats over the course of the last two years.

The 16-year-old appeared in his first game with the Cougars on Saturday.
