Snowfall warning ended

Jan 8, 2018 | 4:47 AM

UPDATE: Environment Canada has ended the snowfall warning for the Grande Prairie area.

A snowfall warning is in effect for Grande Prairie and surrounding area.

Environment Canada says between 10 to 15 centimetres of snow could fall as a low-pressure system develops.

Snowfall is expected to pick up this afternoon then move east out of the province Tuesday afternoon.

“Snowfall warnings are issued when at least 10 centimetres of snow is expected to fall within 12 hours. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.”
