Environmental Impact Statement on Amisk project due in 2020

A federal agency says it will be 2020 before it gets some key paperwork on the proposed Amisk Hydroelectric Project.
The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency says the company wants to build the power generator is still working on its Environmental Impact Statement.
AHP Development Corporation wants to build the facility on the Peace River about 15 kilometres upstream from Dunvegan.
Some people have already raised concerns including flooding where a dam would be built, boat travel on the river, and access to traditional hunting and fishing areas for Indigenous people.
