Grey charged with attempted murder following weekend shooting

Grande Prairie RCMP have charged Dakota Jackson Grey with ten offences including attempted murder following the weekend shooting of a city grader.

RCMP say it happened just after midnight Saturday in the area of 100th street and 84th avenue after a grader and a vehicle were involved in a collision.

It is alleged the driver of that vehicle got out and fired shots at the grader before taking off on foot.

The grader operator was not hit by any of the bullets but was taken to hospital with other minor injuries before being released. 

The 22-year-old has been charged with:

•        Attempted murder

•        Discharge firearm with intent

•        Pointing a firearm

•        Possess weapon for dangerous purpose

•        Unauthorized possession of a firearm 

•        Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm 

•        Firearm in a motor vehicle

•        Careless use of a firearm

•        Possess firearm contrary to prohibition order x 2

 

Grey remains in custody and will make a court appearance February 7th.
