Threat to local school deemed false

A threat of violence towards a local high school has been investigated and determined to be false.

RCMP were made aware of the social media post 5 p.m. Wednesday that indicated there could be violence at the Grande Prairie Composite High School Thursday. 

Mounties and the Grande Prairie Public School District were able to find the origin of the threat and it was deemed to be false.

There is no threat to student or teacher safety at the school.
