Updated: County road closures due to flooding

UPDATE (4:20 p.m.) The County of Grande Prairie continues to monitor the spring runoff.

There is water flowing over and flooding roadways at multiple locations throughout the County.

The most recent road closure is:

-Range Road 113 from Township Road 705 to Township Road 710 
-Range Road 114 from Township Road 705 to Township Road 710
-Range Road 111A from Township Road 705 to Township Road 705A

Other County roads still affected include:

– Township Road 742 from Range Road 34 to Range Road 35.
– Range Road 25 from Township Road 744 to Township Road 750
– Range Road 94 from Secondary Highway 672 to Township Road 730

According to the County of Grande Prairie, Township Road 705 has water crossing the roads in areas and the alternate route is Townships Road 720.

Range Road 73 from Township Road 721 to Township Road 722 has been re-opened to traffic.

 Motorists are asked to be very careful where flooding is taking place, especially at night.

The Public Works Emergency Line (780-532-7393) is available 24 hours a day for emergencies due to flooding roads, washed out or frozen culverts or significant road damage that impedes travel or has a significant risk to safety and property.

Any non-emergency calls can be directed to Public Works (780-532-9722) during regular business hours.
