Man arrested after police chase on Highway 2

A police pursuit on Highway 2 has led to the arrest of one man.
 
Spirit River RCMP say around 1:45 p.m. today, they got a call of an armed robbery at a gas station in Rycroft.
 
After leaving the gas station, the suspect then went to a home and stole a vehicle. Police tried to do a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle fled. Both vehicles were damaged during the attempted stop
 
A chase ensued down Highway 2 that ended in the County of Grande Prairie.
 
Charges are pending against a  34-year-old man from Blackfalds.
 
The investigation continues.
 
RCMP members from three Grande Prairie detachment units, plus Police Dog Services, were called in to help.
