State of Emergency lifted in Hythe, pumps off in Sexsmith

Apr 30, 2018 | 5:50 PM

A state of local emergency in Hythe has been lifted.

It had been in place since Friday because of worries over potential flooding.

Water is receding, but officials will continue to monitor water levels.

They say warmer weather this week means the remaining snow will melt very quickly.

Meanwhile, in Sexsmith, water pumps have been turned off as water levels are dropping there as well.

Sandbags are in place in some key areas.

Town officials are keeping an eye out for any more water trouble.
