Two charged after traffic stop in Grande Prairie

RCMP turned up meth, crack cocaine, cocaine, fentanyl, and magic mushrooms after pulling over a vehicle in Grande Prairie this month. 

On April 18, 2018, police were patrolling westbound on 100 Avenue at around 6:30 a.m. when they located a vehicle with a suspended driver. After pulling it over, officers seized weapons along with money and drugs. 

The driver of the vehicle, 37-year-old Travin Norwegian of Grande Prairie, is facing 14 charges including:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x4
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Driving while Prohibited
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x3
  • Fail to Comply with Conditions x5

Twenty-year-old Jessica Zatko of Grande Prairie was the passenger of the vehicle and is facing numerous charges including:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x4
  • Possession of Controlled Substance
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x3

The matter is now before the courts and RCMP will not be providing any more information.
